“I'd do a video today to highlight what I built using the plans contained in Tom Griffith’s book “Easy Cellar “ (PDF). This is my second winter using it now and then... other things about winter storage, so we're down in the basement and it's a little hard to give you a sense of what's going on in here, but this is the beginning of our awesome Survival Easy Cellar… we just used a bunch of foam panel boards that I bartered with a guy for I think I still owe him some Carpathian walnuts and chestnut trees… but these are 4 by 8 insulation panels, you can see I got a couple that are doubled up here more storage than extra insulation.

The building part was pretty easy and really exciting for me, since it’s the first time I do something like that. I think Tom Griffith did a really great job with these easy to apply step by step plans. But I'm gonna go inside and actually show you what this is all about little thing. I want to make a note seems like this video channel is starting to gain some popularity which is super exciting so thank you for being part of that.

I just want to make sure that people understand that what we're showing our systems that are the lowest cost ideally reuse based easy to implement you can always make it fancier and spend more money and make it nicer, but just want to make sure people know that they can do this stuff because if we can do it you can definitely do it. Anyway if my camera could zoom out Mord be helpful but this gives you an idea of our survival Easy Cellar... What we're experimenting with are a number of different systems for organizing and storing things.

I’m going to finish the last details pretty soon. I'm going to need to bring water into here to keep the relative humidity higher. Anyway I’m really satisfied with my survival Easy Cellar because it can protect me and my family in case of emergency.

You can see that what we've got is meter that tells you some details. This is like the average height in our root cellar. it's 36 degrees Fahrenheit which is pretty close to ideal for the potatoes and things like that we're storing...”.
