In 2016, VICE aired a two year investigation uncovering widespread allegations of sexual abuse and rape at the hands of UN peacekeepers by the very women and children they pledge to protect.

In his home country of Argentina, Diego Maradona is widely considered the greatest soccer player to ever grace the sport. He is so beloved by his fans that in 1998 a group took their adoration for the athlete to the extreme and founded the Maradonian Church: a religion entirely devoted to worshipping the soccer star.

In 2016, VICE met business partners in Atlanta who had a dream of getting into the legal weed business, but couldn’t see a way to take their illegal grow off the streets.

In the early 2000s, a Mexican professional wrestler named “Crazy Boy” took a trip to check out an extreme, violent offshoot of the sport that was blowing up in Japan. When he got back, he started working to introduce the world of “lucha libre” to a fighting style with a little more edge—where wrestlers use knives, chairs, fluorescent lightbulbs, and high-risk maneuvers to leave their opponents as bloodied as possible.

Come October, Canada will be the second country in the world to legalize weed. While inhaling dried cannabis will be legal, cannabis-infused edibles will remain illegal into 2019. Pop-up markets specializing in edibles are a new phenomenon sweeping Toronto and they are totally illegal.
