Met haar Turkse wortels stevig in de Hollandse klei laat ze horen dat ze van heel wat muzikale markten thuis is. Begonnen als klassiek pianiste ontdekte ze later de jazz, pop en Turkse muziek. Met strakke trompet, ritmische drum en warme contrabas gaat ze je opnieuw verrassen. Karsu’s grote voorbeeld is Ahmet Ertegun, een Turks-Amerikaanse zakenman en een van de oprichters van Atlantic Records. Geen wonder dus dat haar voorstelling de naam draagt: Plays Atlantic Records.
